Denise Mallow, PHR, is the Principal of DGM Associates in Human Resource Development, LLC. She has spent 20 years in the corporate world of healthcare, health insurance, training & development and human resources. Denise is a certified AchieveGlobal Leadership Trainer and Integrity Systems Trainer. She is also WELCOA certified in Workplace Wellness. As a previous Staff and Development Trainer, Director of Human Resources and Assistant Vice President of HR Support Services, she has developed and lead training programs across the country. Denise is a two time Past President of the Hudson-Mohawk Chapter of the American Society for Training & Development, served as Chair of the Annual Conference and is also a former recipient of Hudson-Mohawk ASTD’s Trainer of the Year and Training Team of the Year Awards.

David S. Freedman, brings over 21 years of training & support to the workplace learning and performance profession. He has designed and delivered technical computer training and provided system-wide documentation and support for many NYS agencies and the private sector. David joined the Hudson-Mohawk ASTD Board in 2000 and has served in several capacities including twice as President (2003-2004, 2010-2011), Co-Chair of the Annual Conference, Online Registration & Brochure for the conference and in 2012 as the Conference Chair. David is a Desktop Support Technician for Dell Field Services at St. Mary’s Healthcare in Amsterdam and involved in Toastmasters leadership throughout the region.

Peter Perrone is the Learning Administrator at SEFCU Headquarters in Albany where he trains staff in Bank Secrecy Act issues and creates on-line training materials and manuals for staff use. He also teaches SEFCU’s internal Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint courses. Peter has been an HM ASTD member since 2001.

Martha McCormick is the Director of Training and Management Consultation for Capital EAP where she develops training programs and staff development activities for nearly 100 client organizations. Martha also provides coaching and consultation on a variety of organizational issues. Prior to joining Capital EAP, she was an Instructor and Lecturer at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, teaching undergraduate courses in Leadership and Professional Development for students in the schools of Engineering and Management. Martha completed graduate study in Counseling Psychology at the University at Albany. She also holds certification as an Employee Assistance Coach Specialist (EACS).

Rue Heron is currently a trainer and instructional systems designer for Taconic in Germantown, NY. Rue has experience in the full range of ISD from needs analysis to evaluation. As a member of the workplace learning and performance profession, Rue’s primary goal is to help employees succeed and excel by designing and facilitating opportunities for them to continuously learn and improve their skills.

Christopher Guldner began his career in the US Navy as a submarine nuclear reactor operator and instructor. With a BS in HR Management, he then worked as a training specialist and manager for GE, First Albany, and Empire Blue Cross Blue Shield. While developing his own restaurant chain, Chris also travelled throughout North America as a Performance Improvement consultant for companies such as Ford, Boeing, Lear, Ocean Spray, GM and Owens Corning. As an Organizational Development & Training Specialist for Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, he again is supporting the Navy’s nuclear propulsion program while also plying his trade as an independent consultant.

Natalie L. Williams has been an active member of HMASTD for 10 years. Natalie joined the HMASTD Board of Directors in 2003 and has served on the Annual Conference Committee for the past 9 years. She is employed at the Washington County Economic Opportunity Council, Inc. as the Director of Employment & Training and One Stop Director of Washington County. In her position as Director, she is a member of the local Workforce Investment Board of Saratoga, Warren and Washington Counties who administer State and Federal funds. Natalie is also the Hudson-Mohawk ASTD 2011 Trainer of the Year.
At-Large Board Member
Katy Butler, Learning Specialist at SEFCU, creates Management Programs and classes for leaders, and provides on-going training on an as-needed basis for supervisors and leaders at SEFCU, using various learning techniques. Katy has a diverse background in Customer Service and Management & Leadership Training and Education. She has held previous jobs with Fred Pryor/Career Track seminars as an on-site trainer and Independent Consultant, and as Training Director for a Western New York premier home furnishings chain. Katy has a Bachelors in English, and is currently pursuing a Masters in Organization Development at Sage. She has been successful in creating training curriculum for organizations and departments, in various cultures and formal and informal business settings. She has experience working with volunteer, non-profit, and business organizations and has helped lead various Boards to success.

Ann Lieberburg has extensive training experience, having begun her career at the former Albany Savings Bank. She has worked for Sunmark Federal Credit Union for the past 13 years as the Training and Development Manager. In her role there she oversees the credit union-wide training function and new employee orientation, assists Subject Matter Experts with training initiatives and creates multimedia training programs.

Steve Russell has been a member of ASTD for over ten years. He has over 25 years of business experience and in-depth workforce development knowledge as a leader in learning & development working in healthcare, government, education, and business. Steve’s expertise is in developing innovative organization development strategies to ensure that business processes support new and experienced employee and leader skills and competencies to achieve organization’s mission, core values, and strategic goals. He is presently working as a senior consultant with the Career and Technology Education – Technical Assistance Center as part of the Successful Practices Network and also teaches at SUNY Delhi and Schenectady County Community College. Steve’s formal education includes receiving his Masters from the University at Albany in Public Administration.

Lisa Hebert Ryan is an owner and the Executive Vice President of MicroKnowledge. Ms. Ryan consults with businesses in the use of technology in the workplace, effective staff training and how job responsibilities change due to implementing technology. In addition, she has worked as a Subject Matter Expert for professional courseware development companies. Ms. Ryan has served on a number of industry and community boards and committees. She currently serves on the board of the Rensselaer Chamber and is involved as a steering committee member on for the Rensselaer Chamber Leadership Institute.
